Hi All,

After seeing the societies in developed countries, we know the difference. Here we don't need to bribe to get a drving licence. We don't need to run to a leader for faulty street lights or a pit in the footpath or mosquitoes problem. Everything is so smooth and happens automatically. Why can't we have this in India? Some could argue, population in India is lot, hence getting these things is difficult. But it is not. See the Population density of the countries.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_and_dependencies_by_population_densityCountries like Japan, Singapore have more density than us but still far better than us. Western europe is not lagging behind in terms of population density.

One of my friends asked, what can we do by living so far from India. Infact, we can do quiet a lot. We can educate people in our circle about same thing. We can inspire good people to be leaders are take part in politics. When a house is left vacant, or people don't live, house will be occupied all types of insects and even with pigs. In a similar way, when educated and good people abondon politics, they will be occupied by criminals and corrupt. It is time for us to act again and take our house back and kick the pigs and insects (Criminals & corrupt) out. Even if we ignore politics, politics won't ignore us. They rule us. Politicians make laws and corrupt politicians make our lives miserable. We end up not having basic facilities. Life will become a struggle. I agree that India is far better place than many third world countries. But this betterness is given by our previous generations by doing freedom fight etc.. So, what do we give to next generations? Let us give politics with ethics and politics for people. When politicians work for people and have a vision, A developed India is not far. im......... Am I already dreaming of a developed India? Well, when we don't dream, there is no goal.

It is amazing to see how many people are volunteering selflessly to make a change in GHMC elections. So many educated and successful persons in their respective careers are not only volunteering & campaigning but also contesting in the elections to bring back the real meaning of the politics and to make the society better. It is wonderful to see all these are working for Loksatta by spending their own money and time selflessly. I am extremely happy to see LSP is providing real platform for the people who want to change their society for good. All these individual efforts are now unified and have a goal and direction.

Mr Katari Srinivasarao, is a lecturer in Computer Sciences faculty in CBIT and is very active in social activities. He is the mayor candidate from Lok Satta. Yesterday, I spoke to Mr Ravi Varma, Candidate from Hyderguda division, is a software engineer by profession. He is a nice guy and good to hear on how he fought with the redtapism in beurocracy to make a change in his division. He is spending all his spare time for bringing change in politics and in society at the ground level.

What can we do from here?
  • As said above, we can inspire people in our circle to volunteer, join LSP. I convinced my Dad, sister and uncles and many. I am sure, you too can.
  • We can give e-support to the party. We can give our valuable suggestions. And make sure it is going in the right direction. Afterall, this is a platform for us.
  • We can help by calling people and explain about LSP and ask them to vote. One of my Friends, Neelima garu, called about 300 people during last general elections.
  • Party needs legitimate money for its genuine activities. Without money, there is nothing much anyone can do. Donate whatever you can. Every little helps. Take executive membership, that way party gets some funds. I am sure every rupee, of hard earned money, we donate is worth.

Last but not least. If you think there is another better party, please let me know. I am sure, you will struggle to find another better political platform in India which is working for people.

Mr Vijay Anand Visit on 31stOct2009

Hi All,

First of all, thank you very much for attending the lively discussion. Even this is first time for me to meet him. He is really a talented, committed and simple guy.

I cannot join Indian political parties, as I do not have normal Indian citizenship. The only little I can do is to support them for bringing change in India and Indian society. As Mr. Vijay said, even 10000 NGO idividuals or groups cannot bring change in India even in 100 years. Only governments can make India a developed country. So, there is a great need for us to support LSP.

We dont need to donate lakhs of rupees. But, every little helps. It would be great, if all of us or most of us take Executive membership by paying $200. I know $200 sounds a lot for some of us. However, a party needs legitimate funds for functioning. And those funds should come from the people like us, who wants to see India as a developed country and every citizen enjoying equal opportunities. Otherwise, our next generation will be left at the mercy of criminal politicians. India has given us all great opportunities and good careers. We are lucky in many ways. There are lot of people, left out because of lack of opportunities. It is time to pay back a little.

Think: Odarche pedavula kanna, Sayam chese chetule minna.

I requested my father to go to Hyderabad to campaign in GHMC election for LSP. Even in 63, he is going for it. I don't think, he can or would expect a political career at this age, but love to give some fruits (Good politics) to next generation of India.

Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has. Join LSP and work with LSP to bring change.

I am not saying LSP is a 100% perfect party. But it is 1000 times better than any other party in India. And certainly has potential to change India.
